Riders from around the world take on two challenges: raising the money needed to fund research for better treatments and a cure for diabetes, and reaching a personal training goal to prepare for a destination cycling experience. The JDRF Ride to Cure Diabetes offers more than a physical and mental challenge, but hope for a world free of T1D.
First time rider, fourteen year old Brendan from right here in the Hudson Valley has been training alongside his mom to prove to himself that he “can do this even though I’m a diabetic.”
“Diabetes can sometimes be a hard disease to live with. Managing is hard for me because life moves quickly and I have to deal with my health before I can go on with life.” – Brendan
